Now you can connect together carbon fiber tubes, accessories such as cameras or microphones, or whatever you can think of via threaded connections. Simply bond these end connectors into the tube, connect and go! Available in 0.5", 0.625", 0.75", 0.875" and 1" round diameters and 0.75" and 1" square. What will you connect?
Dragonplate high temperature carbon fiber is comprised of a special carbon fiber/phenolic prepreg laminate that is formulated and processed to give excellent properties at temperatures much higher than standard epoxy products can withstand. These high temperature materials maintain most of their rigidity up to 500 F, and can withstand short durations at much higher temperatures. Due to the phenolic resin system, these materials are very flame retardant, and can survive short duration contact by direct flame. After long duration direct flame contact, mechanical properties will be reduced, but the shape is maintained.
DragonPlate's carbon fiber LAST-A-FOAM core utilizes FR-3706 foam. FR-3700 is a CFC-free, rigid, closed-cell, polyurethane foam with a density of 6 pounds per cubic foot. It exhibits a high strength-to-weight ratio due to its cellular structure and cross-linked resin. Because of its closed-cell structure, LAST-A-FOAM FR-3706 has great resistance to water absorption, and will not swell, crack, or split on exposure to water.
Dragonplate Carbon/Kevlar Core prepreg sheets combine the stiffness of carbon fiber with the toughness of Kevlar. By creating a sandwich laminate where carbon fiber comprises the outer layers (the skins), these panels exhibit nearly the same stiffness as a solid carbon fiber sheet. The all Kevlar core, however, increases the impact and puncture toughness of the panel when compared to a standard all-carbon fiber laminate. If your application not only requires the high stiffness and low weight of carbon fiber, but also the toughness of Kevlar, try this product.
The construction of our Kevlar core carbon fiber tubes is identical to our standard twill roll-wrapped tubes except that the uni-directional plies are replaced with prepreg woven Kevlar. By creating a sandwich laminate where carbon fiber comprises the material layers on the inside and outside of these tubes, Kevlar core carbon fiber tubes maintain most of the stiffness of our standard roll-wrapped twill prepreg tubes, but with greatly increased impact and puncture toughness due to the all Kevlar core. Wall thickness is 1/16" with a gloss finish.
DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Prepreg Birch Core Sheets are a light weight composite utilizing a birch core and carbon fiber skins. Birch is an excellent core material that offers both a high degree of toughness and machinability.
Similar to our standard Birch core sheets, the prepreg sheets offer the additional benefits of a smooth satin finish on both sides of the panel with face sheet options, as well as the options for high modulus and ultra high modulus carbon fiber, which greatly increase the stiffness of the panel.
