What is the structure and composition of the Gurit 1" Foam Core - 3 Layer panel?
The Gurit 1" Foam Core - 3 Layer panel consists of a closed cell, cross-linked Gurit PVC40 polymer foam core sandwiched between three layers of carbon fiber on each side. This lay-up is quasi-isotropic, using woven 0/90 and ±45 orientations for strength and stiffness. The panel is available with a gloss, matte, or textured finish on one side and a textured finish on the other for optimal bonding to other surfaces. DragonPlate carbon fiber Gurit PVC40 foam core is a unique closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam core. This is a lightweight structural foam that has good impact strength. While great for high strength applications which require a low panel weight, this is a carbon fiber foam core laminate that can resist crushing forces and supply an adequate mounting surface. The lay-up design is quasi-isotropic, consisting of three layers of carbon fiber on each side of a Gurit foam core center.
