Product Information

What is the DragonPlate Carbon Rod ~ 2mm x 48"?

The DragonPlate Carbon Rod ~ 2mm x 48" is a pultruded carbon fiber rod designed for applications requiring high strength and lightweight properties. It is part of DragonPlate's range of pultruded carbon fiber components, suitable for structural, robotics, aerospace, and hobbyist projects. Note: For specific technical specs, refer to the Weights and Specifications page. Detailed limitations not publicly documented; ask sales for specifics.

What types of carbon fiber products does DragonPlate offer?

DragonPlate offers a wide range of carbon fiber products, including sheets, plates, veneers, sandwich sheets with various core materials, tubes (round, square, rectangular, hexagonal, airfoil, tapered, braided, roll-wrapped, pultruded), telescoping tubes, structural components (I-beams, C-channels, angles), modular connector systems, high-temperature and flame-retardant products, Kevlar composites, adhesives and applicators, and specialty kits like quadcopter kits. All products are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality standards. Note: Not all products are suitable for every application; consult technical documentation for compatibility.

Features & Capabilities

What are the key performance highlights of DragonPlate carbon fiber products?

DragonPlate carbon fiber products feature a high strength-to-weight ratio, exceptional durability, and impact resistance. For impact-critical applications, Kevlar or carbon/Kevlar hybrid products are available. Engineering optimizations include fiber orientation, laminate design, and the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to maximize performance and reduce material waste. Note: Carbon fiber is strongest along the fiber direction; multi-directional layups are used for balanced properties. Best fit for applications needing lightweight, strong materials; teams requiring metal-like ductility may want to consider alternatives.

Does DragonPlate offer custom fabrication and design services?

Yes, DragonPlate provides custom fabrication services, including CNC cutting, custom sheet sizes, and tailored laminate schedules. Customers can submit concept sketches, load requirements, or project descriptions for custom solutions. End-to-end services cover design, prototyping, and manufacturing. Note: Custom projects may require additional lead time depending on complexity.

What certifications and compliance standards do DragonPlate products meet?

DragonPlate products are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality standards. For medical and defense industries, biocompatible and radiolucent materials are available to meet stringent regulatory requirements. Note: Compliance with specific industry standards should be verified for each product; consult documentation or sales for details.

Pricing & Plans

How is DragonPlate's pricing determined?

DragonPlate's pricing varies based on product type, size, thickness, and features such as finishes or face sheet options. All prices are quoted and payable in US Dollars. Shipping charges are calculated based on package weight and dimensions, with possible surcharges for oversized or overweight packages. Taxes are the buyer's responsibility unless a valid exemption certificate is provided. Prices and discounts are subject to change without notice. Note: For current pricing, visit the product page or contact sales directly.

Technical Requirements & Documentation

Where can I find technical specifications and CAD models for DragonPlate products?

Technical specifications, including weights and material properties, are available at Weights and Specifications. Downloadable CAD models can be accessed at CAD Models. Additional resources include surface finishes information and a comprehensive guide to carbon fiber design and application. Pultruded in an epoxy resin, DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tubes and Rods are exceptionally straight and rigid and are an ideal building material for frames, trusses and for use as reinforcing material. Because tube and rod are fundamental building blocks, they find great utility in the building of engineering and high performance structures, and work well in concert with DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tubes and Rods are easy to work. They can be cut with a band saw, coping saw, scroll saw, end mill, or dremmel tool. Because DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tube and Rod are pultruded in an epoxy matrix they will bond readily with ScotchWeld 2216 epoxy resin.
