DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Prepreg Birch Core Sheets are a light weight composite utilizing a birch core and carbon fiber skins. Birch is an excellent core material that offers both a high degree of toughness and machinability.

Similar to our standard Birch core sheets, the prepreg sheets offer the additional benefits of a smooth satin finish on both sides of the panel, as well as the options for high modulus and ultra high modulus carbon fiber, which greatly increase the stiffness of the panel.

The carbon fiber skins comprise 0/90 degree uni-directional with twill weave face sheets. Carbon fiber skin thickness is approximately 0.03 inches on each side of the birch core, adding approximately 0.06 inches (1.5mm) to the core thickness.

This sheet size has a satin finish on both sides, with options for the face sheet on both sides. Also available in this sheet size is the option for higher modulus uni-directional fabrics.

Since ultra-high modulus (UHM) carbon fiber material has certain export restrictions, customers are required to fill out a short form detailing the end use. Both the customer and application will need to be vetted before the product is able to ship. Please fill-out the PDF form to the left and fax or email it back to us if you have ordered the UHM option.
